Motion Capture: Engine House

I was fortunate enough to work with Engine House on a project related to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. This Being the first professional project I partook in, it turned out to be a great learning experience as it allowed me to work first hand with professionals and put the experience I gained from university into practice.

In order to achieve this I used Xsens as and a radio based motion capture system to gather unclean data onto the cloud which was then transferred to the client upon completion

When it came to this project I had to build effective rapports with the clients and follow the requested brief in order to deliver the Mocap data that would be appropriate for the project. My role for this project was to explain the calibration process for the motion capture actors and make sure that the recording of data goes as smoothly as possible.

The actors were staff members of the client so they had a strict schedule and list of animations that needed to be finished by the end of the day so it was great learning how to balance time management and quality in order to make sure all the animations get finished.

Overall it was a great learning experience as it helped me familiarise myself with the way I will need to handle myself in the industry and how to respect the client and fellow members of staff even when a tight time limit is placed upon me and the client has big expectations of our work.
